Abbey Road Studios’ website has featured an interview with me and 21 of my photos from 11 years of music photography. This year I was honored to win the award for their Zeitgeist category for their first annual Music Photography Awards.

This category tasked photographers with capturing the image that defined music in 2021. The picture that makes you stop. Makes you think. Makes you feel. A visual statement of music the year that will be remembered for generations to come.

You can read the interview and view the photos on their website here.

This Sunday I will be featured on Episode 17 of "Sur Les Murs", a French TV documentary program on urban culture hosted by the famous "rule-breaker" and French artist Richard Orlinski. The episode will air on French TV5Monde in many countries around the world at 10:30 am ET (GMT+1 in France). In order to watch you will need to use a VPN and set your country/server for the United Kingdom. Then go to europe.tv5monde.com.

The program will be in French but it has English subtitle options, among many others.

SPM Podcast - Chris Suspect Shoots the Insurrection by Chris Suspect

This past Friday I was a guest on the popular Street Photography Magazine podcast in which host Bob Patterson interviewed me about my experience photographing the Capitol Riot. In this conversation not only do I discuss my experience but I also provide some tips on shooting these kinds of tense situations and whether or not photos from these events should be handed over to law enforcement.

We also talk about my upcoming show at DC's hottest new gallery called Bad Candy which will be up during the month of November into December. And, we went over the process for the making of Beyond the Frame, the short documentary about me and my photography by filmmaker Tim Huynh.

Finally we closed with some details about my upcoming workshop for Day of the Dead in Mexico and I drop some hints about a new book for the end of 2021 from the DC Street Photography Collective.

Beyond the Frame with Chris Suspect by Chris Suspect

It was a real honor to work with Tim Huynh on the first episode of Beyond the Frame, a slick, well-produced vignette of a photographer's career to date. This is a compelling and fast-paced video that covers my previous life in a punk rock band, how I got interested in photography, and the projects I have pursued throughout my career. I really enjoyed digging through my archival materials, from old family photos, projects, punk fliers and video footage for this video. And, it was also fun to help fill in some visual gaps by creating current footage of me on the streets shooting in DC.
